July Child's Play Challenges

Classic Game Challenge: Operation
It's Game Challenge week and the 4th and final challenge for the month of July.  This is on old favorite of mine-OPERATION. That buzzer still makes me jump!

Here is my take on this challenge. "Operation Knee Surgery"   I was inspired by the game "Operation" and the colors on the game.

Products used were:
  • Cricut
  • AC Cardstock
  • Gauze
  • Basic Grey letters
  • Cosmo Cricket mini letters
  • Band Aid brand band aid
My journaling reads:

In July 2011 I had my knee surgery that I have been putting off since I was 20.  This time around, Dr. Pritchard wasn’t giving me an option.  So scope and a tendon release was what I was scheduled for.  My friend Lene came to see me right after the surgery bringing a Venus Fly trap….just in case I couldn’t get into the shower.  It was to help deal with the flies!  Gotta love your friends!

I ended up having a shower a few days later, but first wrapped the dressing with Saran wrap and secured it with Duct tape!

I was off for 5 weeks, with ultrasound, laser treatments and exercise routines.  My knee hasn’t felt this good for a long time!!!

Hello CPC friends, time for our 2nd challenge of the month. Grab your popcorn and some candy, it's movie time!! Today we're finding scrapping inspiration from the classic movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...

Journaling reads:

A Chocolate Mess...
That describes you two!  Kerri and Tess loved baking cakes together and licking the bowls afterwards. You two would get into licking spoons and bowls and make such a mess!  After a few chocolate stained t-shirts, the rule was to take the shirts off before licking.  Love your chocolate smiles and dirty faces!

The final challenge I completed is...

And since we are in the Play offs....another hockey layout!!!  This layout is of my son's trip to Rankin Inlet, Nunavut,  when they went there a few years ago to play hockey.  An exciting part of the trip was a trip to Jordin Tootoo's (professional hockey player for you non-hockey peeps)  house to see all his hockey awards, trophies and jerseys.  I didn't go on this trip, so I don't have pics of my son in this layout, but I wanted to scrap this for his hockey album because he said this was the highlight of his trip.  The Tootoo family gave the kids hockey cards, so we have lots of Jordin, and I wanted to scrap them as well.

The layout is inspired by two challenges...Scrap Our Stash...the challenge being - The Challenge: Create a LAYOUT using 3 or more patterned papers!  You MUST use papers from 3 or more different collections. AND....you will need to dig further into your stash and pull out some of those RUBONS.
The second challenge was inspired by Red Carpet Studios...the challenge being - Our challenge this week is to create a layout using black as the prominent color! Our challenge this week is inspired by the film, "Black Swan."

Scrapping Again!  This time I decided to make the challenges fit "MY" pictures....I have been trying hard to find pictures to do challenges, and haven't been scrapping what I need to complete...So...I was so excited to see a challenge that fits to what I needed to work on!!  This layout (double) is of my son when he was in Pee Wee hockey.  The challenge I used was from Let's get Sketchy.  I also used part of Scrap Our Stash challenge with Dots and Stripes...just forgot to add a bird/butterfly...That's ok...I am glad to use their inspiration!

Here is my take on this sketch.  So happy I was to use his hockey card...front and back!

Another Challenge!  This time from the Scrap Our Stash blog...

Here is the sketch and I had to use various alphas for the title or journaling

Here is my take of the sketch  "Endless Fun in the Sun at Paint Lake"

I used the supplies from a kit from our LSS using Bo Bunny products.

Here is another page (and the kit) ...this page was designed by my friend, Jan Campbell (and LSS owner).  I had enough pictures to do a double layout.

Craft Challenge: Duct Tape

Ready for March challenge #3? Today the Designers are in a bit of a sticky situation....we're getting inspired by Duct Tape! We'd love to see you create a layout inspired this great craft supply!

The inspiration I got from this challenge was "duck".  My layout is "Gone Duck Hunting"
This layout is my son and nephew on their first annual duck hunt.  No duct tape was harmed in this layout!

Journalling says: Brenden, Jason and Jake on their first duck hunt in Dauphin.  The boys' shot was pretty impressive, but their hunting dog was not.  The Allard hunting season lives on another generation.

I also have private journaling on the back for my son.
